School Uniform
We are very proud of the appearance of our pupils. Our uniform is a symbol of belonging to Stourfield Junior School and underlines the sense of community we seek to develop. We see it as a clear statement of identity both inside school and when we are on educational visits away from site. The children should take pride in their appearance and present a positive image for our school. We ask for your support in this matter.

Please ensure that all items of uniform, including bags and PE kit, are labelled with the child's name.
Footwear guidance
---
We expect pupils to wear sensible, school shoes and not trainers in school. We also ask for your support in controlling the size of heel as a matter of health and safety. We do not allow children to wear open-toed sandals, boots, sling back or mule type shoes which do not support the ankle. Trainers are not allowed (except for use in PE/Games lessons or when using the MUGA).
Jewellery, Hair and Make-up
---
A simple analogue or digital watch may be worn. Smart watches and fitbits are not permitted to be worn, but can be kept in bags during the school day.
Children are permitted to wear simple, small stud earrings. They must be able to remove them or tape them up for P.E. or preferably not wear them on a P.E. day.
Children arriving in school with other items of jewellery such as necklaces, bracelets and rings will be asked to remove them.
Make-up is not considered appropriate for school and this includes nail varnish. Children wearing either make-up or nail varnish will be given removal wipes so that it can be taken off.
Pupils should avoid extremes of hairstyles and hair should be grade 2 or above in length, with no patterns or ridges shaved in.
Children are expected to retain their natural hair colour.
Hair braids and extensions are NOT permitted. If fitted during a holiday period, the braids should be removed before the beginning of the new term.
Hair accessories should be simple.
Shoulder length and longer hair must be tied back at all times in the interests of health and safety and to stop the spread of head lice. This applies to both girls and boys.
